The Volvo 850 T-5R estate is an increasingly collectible high-performance sleeper, and this black example has had only two keepers from new. The vendor has owned it for 26 years and bought it from a friend of his, so he has known the car all its life. Its service record contains 15 stamps (mostly at main dealers) up to 132,258 miles. Today the odometer reads 134,403 miles, and the MoT is valid to 1st June 2026.
It's equipped with black leather & Alcantara seats, automatic transmission and a working CD autochanger in the boot. We're told it “drives perfectly” with a “sweet and powerful engine”, having spent the last 10 years stored inside and only taken out when the weather is dry. The engine warning light reportedly goes out after 2-3 minutes.
According to a printout of Volvo production numbers which accompanies the history file, this car is one of only 28 black automatic examples sold in the UK. It comes with a good collection of receipts and old MoTs. Maintenance has included renewal of the transmission oil at 132,258 miles in 2017, and renewing the timing belt, coolant pump and auxiliary belt using genuine Volvo parts at 133,740 miles in 2021.
The car was first registered on 25th March 1995.
