1490cc. This extremely rare Toyota Lite Stout Mk2 was imported from Australia in 2020, and is one of only two in the UK. The car previously received a light restoration, having been resprayed at some stage and fitted with a new trayback. The vendor tells us that the cab and engine are believed to be original. Receipts show that the vehicle received some recommissioning work in 2021, including new brakes and brake lines, gearbox oil replacement, new bushes, and some repairs to the handbrake. Import paperwork is also included, as well as the current V5C in the vendor's name. It also comes with a pack of engine gaskets.
The vendor, who has owned this Toyota since 2021, tells us that it has been dry stored and only used a few times for shows. The odometer is showing 16k miles.
The Lite Stout was the precursor to the Hilux, advertised in Australia as “the ute with the strength of a truck”. Equipped with independent front coil suspension, rear leaf springs, rear-wheel drive and a four-speed gearbox, it promised owners an experience that was “just like riding in a car” despite being “Toyota tough”.
