MG RV8 Roadster 1995 for sale.
The MG RV8 is a two-seat roadster produced by British car manufacturer MG from 1993 to 1995. It was based on the classic MGB platform, but with a range of modern upgrades and a sleek, retro-inspired design.
Under the hood, the RV8 is powered by a 3.9-liter V8 engine that produces 190 horsepower and 234 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission, and the car features rear-wheel drive and a limited-slip differential for excellent handling and performance.
The RV8's body is constructed from a combination of steel and composite materials, and features classic roadster styling with a long hood, short deck, and flowing curves. The car also includes a range of modern amenities, including power windows, air conditioning, and a high-quality stereo system.
Inside the cabin, the RV8 features leather upholstery, wood trim, and a classic MG steering wheel. The car also includes a range of gauges and instrumentation, including a tachometer, speedometer, and oil pressure and temperature gauges.
Despite its modern upgrades, the MG RV8 remains true to its classic roots, with a charming, retro-inspired design and an engaging driving experience. Only 2,000 examples were produced during its brief production run, making it a rare and sought-after collector's item among MG enthusiasts.
Exterior: The blue metallic paint is just stunning and in certain light, there is a hint of purple in it. The MG RV8 is showing minimal signs of use on the outside and has had a recent polish. The black soft top is perfect and with a clear plastic screen in the back. The 15-inch spoke pattern aluminium wheels are fitted with Michelin tyres. To ensure vintage MG drivers should feel right at home, the air intake just in front of the screen is identical to the initial MGB.
Interior: MG used a rather thick leather for RV8 to make sure it could take a lot of sun and weather. There are a walnut wood dashboard and wood panels on the doors. On some places, the clearcoat is lifting just a little bit. Otherwise, it’s a super clean and comfortable cabin. The trunk of the MG RV8 is covered with a black carpet and here you will find the spare wheel, jack, and original tool roll.
Engine: The Rover V8 gives you 190 horsepower and that is more than enough for this little convertible. The nice thing is the torque from the V8 and of course the sound when you have the top down. Normal maintenance has been carried out over the years and it drives very nicely today.
History: Just like most of the MG RV8, this car was sold new in Japan and came to Sweden in April 2018. It has had one owner here since then. The fact that this is a blue car, and it is left hand drive is what makes it very special. There were not many cars like this produced. It comes with a handbook and all original belongings.
If you have an MG that you are considering selling, we would like to hear from you.
